Hey Chris, thanks for the heads-up! Looks like we missed that in testing, so I’ve forwarded your comment to our designers so we can get that reinstated.

Really appreciate you letting me know, and thanks for your comment!

Jamie

Heads up, seems like ever since the relaunch the sharing buttons are only producing the link, no headline copy or credit. (Twitter the only one I’ve used)

Hi Tony, I see what you’re saying but I’d argue that reviews are becoming more and more important as a ranking signal, with the latest Moz Local Ranking Factors Study citing quantity of reviews as the second biggest competitive difference-maker, only losing out to ‘Quality/Authority of Inbound Links to Domain’, so I think the argument for a review generation strategy is pretty compelling.

Thanks

In many industries, many businesses have no reviews, so many of those are unclaimed, yet so many times, they dwarf the business that does have reviews.
It is a minor seo factor that I think there are far better ways to impact ranking than spending time trying to game the local rankings with reviews.

Hi Greg, thanks for your comment.

No, the ‘Get Reviews’ process does not involve review gating as customers are asked to leave a review regardless of whether they’re reporting a positive or negative experience. You can find out more here.

Thanks

Hi Justin,

Asking customers to review you via email isn’t against Google’s guidelines (but it is against Yelp’s, as they’re against any kind of review solicitation). I can’t speak to Grade.us’s service, but as long as you’re giving everyone the option to leave a Google review (whether their initial feedback is good or bad), you shouldn’t be accused of review-gating. The ‘gating’ element comes in when you specifically funnel happy customers towards leaving reviews, and funnel unhappy customers away from it.

Hope that helps.

Jamie

Is sending out emails asking your client-base to review you, now considered illegal as well?
