Hi there, that’s a really interesting question. I’ve checked with our citations team and we can confirm that for those sites that require a location verification via IP, using a VPN is the only way we’ve been able to do it. We have managed it, though. I’m not sure if you’ve considered using it, but our Citation Builder service takes care of all your citation sites for you: https://www.brightlocal.com/citation-builder/

Thanks for this list. it is very useful. However, other sites do not accept if they detect location. I manage several sites for linking and they are outsourced to me. I hope they will also consider without me using VPN. Is that possible?

Great list. One thing that is frustrating – some of the citation source links take to the home page where there is virtually no way of knowing how to gain a citation, for example Here Maps and Tom Tom. It would be great if the links provided actually took you to the place where you can actually create a citation.
